The Importance of Music Education

from: Kyle Besser

Music education in public schools is very important in our society and to our children and families today. There are so many different ways in which music affects our lives and our society. Do you really understand the importance music education plays in public schools? Do you know why your children should be studying and learning about music? Do you understand how music education in public schools can help their future?

Organizations like the National Association for Music Education understand the importance music education plays and work hard to keep music education in public schools and other ways of teaching young people more about music in education programs. There are many different ways to motivate and enhance music education in schools. For example, there are books that teach children how to read music and write musical notes and songs. You can also get music education videos, DVDs, tapes and other music education products to help teach yourself or your child music.

The opening statement of "The Value and Quality of Arts Education: A Statement of Principles," a document from the nation's ten most important educational organizations, including the American Association of School Administrators, the National Education Association, the National Parent Teacher Association, and the National School Boards Association states "Every student in the nation should have an education in the arts."

This could not be truer. It's not likely that anyone will argue the importance of music education in public schools, but the problem is finding the time and the funding to get music education in schools taught properly. When schools have budgeting problems, budget cuts in music education are common. Music education in schools is not high on the priority list for funding.

People need to understand the importance music education and just how music education in schools helps kids and how music education in schools helps them prepare for the future. There are many ways that a music education in schools can help your child succeed. Music education children receive will help them with:

* Developing intelligence
* And more

Music is a basic part of our society. We hear music many times every day in many different ways. Children who learn to understand music and grow up with an appreciation for it will fit in well and succeed in society.

Music education children receive can help them succeed in school. Doing well in music related classes helps them succeed in other classes as well. Music can also be a great tutoring school. An appreciation and knowledge of music can help them boost their confidence to do well on other things.

The better people understand music education benefits, the better we can strive through getting music education for children of all ages.
