Two way communication, including video feed, allows students in both locations to interact with the teacher and each other. Sometimes, several satellite locations meet at the same time, and three or four classes share the teacher.
The advantage of online distance learning is that students get to interact with the teacher, ask questions and hear discussion in real time without having to be physically present at the actual classroom. This concept is being used in locations around the world for a myriad of courses.
